MosquitoZone Corporation is currently seeking Crew Chiefs
to work in specific Vector Control Operations zones
throughout the world. Our current need is within a large
Oil and Gas Project in Papua New Guinea. This Project
includes protecting a large LNG facility, pipeline, and
associated drilling facilities throughout the country.
Duties include, but are not limited to the
following:
- Reporting to
Medical Entomologists and assisting with all vector
control and surveillance including all pests such as
lice, chiggers, fleas and poisonous snakes.
- Mosquito and
insect surveillance such as, resting box and light trap
collection, larval collection, and identification of
genus and if required, species.
- Mosquito and
insect control such as, use of vehicle or hand held ULV
sprayers, thermal fogging under buildings, treatment of
bed nets, and the use of larvicides and
insecticides.
- Assisting the
Medical Entomologists with training the local Vector
Control Specialists, the use of control equipment, the
proper mixing of chemicals, the use of personal safety
gear, and the identification of arthropods.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s
Degree in Entomology or Biological Sciences
- Experience
with Mosquito Abatement in a public or private
sector
- Anyone with a
background in the Military as a Preventative Medical
Technician will be considered
- Candidates
with at least 5 years of field experience but lacking a
degree will be considered
- Any
experience in handling poisonous snakes is a
plus
- Love of the
outdoors, good physical condition and ability to handle
uncertainty and tough living conditions are strongly
advised qualities of candidates seeking this
opportunity
